Medical UAV Command & Control
I defined the responsibilities and information flow for a proposed medical-drone command-and-control center.
Overview
Planning the control side of medical deliveries.
A medical-drone delivery involves more than the aircraft. A request has to become a mission, the aircraft needs monitoring, and several groups need the right information. I developed a proposed command-and-control architecture around those responsibilities.
I created the operating concept, functional breakdown, requirements structure, and interface matrix. Keeping the focus on the control center made the scope manageable while showing its connections to aircraft, ground stations, customers, and external services.
The result was a documented systems design for review and further requirements development. It was not an operating delivery service or a flight-test project.
Defining the control center’s responsibilities
I set the system boundary around the command-and-control center. That let me examine mission planning, aircraft monitoring, airspace coordination, and safety intervention while making the dependencies on other groups explicit.
Tracing a request through the system
I broke the proposed operation into functions and mapped the information needed between them. The interface matrix recorded the exchanges across subsystem boundaries, giving the architecture a basis for review.
The output was a proposed architecture and a starting point for more detailed requirements. Numerical requirements still needed refinement before implementation and testing.
